When Sarah Sisto was just a freshman in high school, a fellow classmate in her English class recommended that she join our program. Three years later, they’re best friends, leading in our Youth in Government program together.
Sisto describes herself as “hardworking, determined, and friendly,” but most of all, she’s passionate about government- something that she has in common with the rest of us.
Last year, Sisto decided to run for her current position because she “felt passionate about implementing my fighting hunger initiative and assisting the rest of the executive branch in making sure this Youth in Government session is
as successful as the years before.” During these years, Sisto participated in the legislative branch.
Her main role as Secretary of State is coordinating the state-wide service project, along with helping the service liaisons implement this in their local delegations. A program for sixth-graders is also underway.
The plans for this year include these very things: “successfully implementing the initiative, and starting an inclusive, impactful sixth-grade program.”
Our Secretary of State wants “to be in government to help make the world a better place for everyone.”
