Good And Unique Food Around Madison

By: Everett Hagany, Fox Cities

This is my personal list of good or unique restaurants in the area around the capitol or just around Madison. First up, The Roman Candle. Located on Williamson St. of East Madison, the Roman Candle is a pizza shop that also serves ice cream. They have the best pizza that I’ve had around here. Number two is Marigold Kitchen. You can find this restaurant on Pinckney St. They serve all-day breakfast along with sandwiches, quiche, granola, and ‘Mexican Coke’. This ‘Mexican Coke’ is simply a fancy name for a tall glass bottle of Coca Cola that may be seen on a Coca-Cola shirt. Marigold Kitchen also serves signature espressos. Another restaurant on my list is Pizza Brutta, which is located on Monroe St. This is a pizza place with some interesting flavors mixed in. It’s really good in an unexpected way, as it’s not the common kind of flavor you get from pizza from a chain restaurant. Last is Everly. This restaurant is also found on Monroe St. I’ve been there and really enjoyed it. They serve dinner, lunch, and weekend brunch. According to the description on Everly’s Google Business page, Everly is a ‘Modern, light-filled eatery with ample outdoor seating offering inventive California-style cuisine. It is highly recommended. I personally recall the fries being delicious.
