Delegate Anusha Achanti of the Fox Cities delegation is a veteran of Youth In Government. As of 2026, she has been participating in Youth In Government and attending Model Government for four years, all which were spent in the Legislative branch. Over the years, she has held the position of Nelson Assembly’s Reading Clerk and is even campaigning for Harvey Speaker, showcasing her dedication to the Legislative branch. When she joined Youth in Government in 2021, all new delegates were required to start out in the Legislative branch, specifically in the Assembly. While most delegates end up switching which branch they are a part of, delegate Achanti’s love for Legislative has led her to stay in the branch, and with each year she’s come up with bigger and better bill ideas.
For this years’ Model Government, 2026, delegate Achanti has crafted a new bill: An Act to reduce water consumption in artificial intelligence production. She began her journey in the Fox Cities YMCA Legislative branch, where Achanti spent hours writing, researching, and refining her bill. It was here where she came up with the idea to reduce the amount of water consumed by artificial intelligence production. Delegate Achanti is very passionate about the environment, and the harm that comes with expanding industrialization. In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) usage has skyrocketed. Many Wisconsinites, and the world in general, are not informed of just how much artificial intelligence impacts the environment. For example, ChatGPT, a common AI platform, requires huge amounts of energy, from fossil fuels, electricity, and water. The aim of delegate Achanti’s bill is to track the water consumption of artificial intelligence centers and implement a hybrid cooling system that will save water.
This bill contains a masterful proposal for action, feasible financing, necessary enforcement, and so much more which will help AI centers be more mindful of their impact on the natural world (the social impact is a whole different debate). With three prior years of experience on bill writing, delegate Achanti is well versed in creating a bill that will pass in both the Nelson Assembly and the Senate, before finally being passed by the Governor to be signed into law.
