What the delegates want: Raising Cane’s

The Box Combo: chicken fingers, crinkle-cut fries, coleslaw, Texas toast, and the famous Cane’s sauce, is Raising Cane’s most popular menu item, especially amongst delegates. Willa Snyder from Door County, a second-year delegate, gave a review on her experience at Raising Cane’s. “If anyone is thinking about going to Cane’s for food, I would definitely recommend it,” she remarked.

In order to describe her favorite and least favorite parts of her meal, she broke it down item by item.

Starting with the chicken fingers, “The chicken was good, it was moist and didn’t have any weird tendons in them,” Willa explained. She talked about how the rubber-like tendons in chicken fingers are always her least favorite part about chicken, so she was glad these were absent in Cane’s chicken fingers. Continuing, she had said that this as her favorite part of the meal, making her want to go back to Raising Cane’s again soon. The next item Willa rated was the Texas toast. “Personally, I do not like the Texas toast, it was dry, and definitely brought my rating of the whole meal down, but not too much.” Although she had not liked the Texas toast, she still believes that many delegates should try Raising Cane’s for their other varieties of foods.

The last thing Willa Snyder reviewed was the meal as a whole. “Overall, I would give the Box Combo an eight. The chicken, coleslaw, and fries were all good, the only thing I don’t like is the Texas toast, however, the other aspects of this meal were what kept my rating of this meal so high,” explained Willa. “The whole thing was very filling, and one of the best meals I have had at Model gov.” Being so accessible to delegates, Raising Cane’s is said to be a must when it comes to getting food in Madison.

Overall, Raising Cane’s is a great place to go for lunch or dinner, especially if you like chicken. Going against the popular opinion however, Willa said, “I had liked the Cane’s sauce, but it is definitely not worth all of the hype it gets. I mean it was good, just not life changing.”

All in all, Raising Cane’s is a popular choice amongst many delegates, especially since it is so close to the Capitol. Raising Cane’s is only a fourteen-minute walk from the Capitol, but if you walk fast enough, the walk could be cut down to twelve minutes. So, if you are hungry, and looking for a good place to eat, Raising Cane’s should definitely top your list.
