The Wisconsin Capitol is one of the most amazing buildings I have been to in my life as of right now. March 3rd, 2023 was my first time seeing and entering the Capitol. I would say it’s one of the best experiences I have had thus far. Thanks to YIG, I am able to have this experience and will be able to have this as a lifelong memory.
I did not know what to expect when I first saw the Capitol. My First time ever seeing it in person was when we were like
three blocks away. I could see it when I looked out the front window of the bus. My thoughts were, “wow” were, “I am actually looking at the Capitol.” It looked really big, and I was just looking at it from the outside; I could not imagine how big it was from the inside.
I have gotten lost many times trying to get to the different rooms. I ended up taking a wrong turn and realized that when I was on the other side. Right now, as I am writing this article, the Capitol is closed, and we are the only ones allowed inside because we are a part of YIG. Due to the capital being closed to the public, the capital is quiet.
I would not have believed myself if I said I would be in the Wisconsin Capitol building, but I am and it’s still hard to believe.
All of this is a really cool and unbelievable experience, I am really glad I got to take advantage of this opportunity that came my way all thanks to Rudy, one of the delegation directors at the YMCA, for bringing up YIG and being part of the media.
